Bird Species
Carolina Wren
Date Photographed
December 20, 2009
Where Photographed
I live in southwestern Pennsylvania and this little wren was enjoying the snow and seed on my front porch raiing. I have large maple trees in front and back yard and I believe it has decided to roost for the winter in our shed as we have seen it go in and out of a small square open hole/window there.
Tips and Tricks
- Besides using feeders on my maple trees and a shepherd's hook, I scatter some seed along the wet but open grass under pine trees.
- I also rub peanut butter or suet w/peanut butter in it on the bark of the trees.

A beautiful photo of a beautiful bird; the colors show just perfectly against the snowy background.
