Where Photographed
Chiefland, Florida. This photo of the robins was taken on my property. The robins have been down since early February. I couldn't wait for them. I find the robins very intertaining. They don't seem too shy around humans, as long as you keep your distance and don't bother them.
Tips and Tricks
- I provide plenty of water and food in the winter since I have alot of birds that come down for the winter. I place water and food in several locations around the property so thay everyone can get a drink and eat and not have to wait in line.
Melissa Mayntz, Birding / Wild Birds Guide, says:
Many people believe that American robins migrate and while some populations will, they can actually stay in snowy areas all year round. Having water available is a great way to attract these birds, and they'll frequently visit birdbaths to drink and bathe. This is a great photo of a male robin being aggressive toward a female, and in this case it might be the beginning of the pair's courtship behavior.
