Where Taken:
The photo was taken on a cloudy afternoon. The place of the photo is the front of my house in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I was standing beside the Maple tree on my property which was located approximately 5-7 meters from the nest.
Advice
- Give them lots of space.
- Try to make yourself inconspicious while watching them.
Melissa Mayntz, Birding / Wild Birds Guide, says:
House sparrows are one of the easiest nesting birds to observe, yet also one of the most overlooked as people try to find more unusual birds instead. Watching these charming birds, however, can give a lot of wonderful insights into bird families. Great photo, and great tips for watching nesting birds - always give them plenty of space and don't disturb them, or the parents may abandon the nest due to stress and any nestlings will suffer.
