Where Taken:
In my yard this is the only tree I have. Robins build a nest in the same place every year this is the first time I have gotten pictures. This was taken in Algonac, Michigan, if you know Michigan Algonac is in the base of the thumb on the Saint Clare River.
Advice
- You just need to stand ready and be patient and you will get your shot -- this was the first time for the family of Robins. Maybe the picture will be better next year who knows?
Melissa Mayntz, Birding / Wild Birds Guide, says:
How appropriate that the American robin is the state bird of Michigan! This is a great shot of a parent feeding very young birds, probably no more than a day or two old. The babies can tell when the parent arrives at the nest because of sound and the pressure they put on the edge as they land, and likely the wind from their wings -- all of which trigger the "FEED ME!" response.
