Wattles

Definition:

(noun) A fleshy, wrinkled fold of skin hangs from the cheeks, neck or throat of certain birds and lacks feathers.

Wattles are found on several bird species including wild turkeys, chickens and some vultures. Wattles are often bright colors such as yellow, red, pink or white, and they are believed to be an important part of a bird’s coloration and display that is used in courtship and aggression.
