Carrion

Definition:

(noun) The dead and decaying flesh of an animal that often serves as a food source for carnivorous or omnivorous birds such as vultures, buzzards, ravens and bald eagles. Carrion is often accompanied by a foul, rancid smell caused by bacterial growth, and the meat is unfit for human consumption.

Sources of carrion may include predator kills, hunting discards, animals killed by vehicle traffic and animals that have died of natural causes.
