It's a fair bet that if you're in its range, you'll find this week's featured bird in a field - the fieldfare prefers open habitat and scrub edges, just like you'd find alongside many agricultural fields, though it is also found in open woodlands and backyards. One of the most widespread and familiar thrushes in Europe and Asia, this bird is a rare but exciting vagrant to North America as well.
