January has been filled with bitter temperatures, relentless snowfall and lingering flu symptoms, but that doesn't mean it's been a bad month for birds! My personal birding highlight is a double dose of cedar waxwings - first, seeing tremendous flocks feeding (though they were uncooperative about being photographed), and second, having a pair appear right on my deck, adding a new yard bird to my list.
All month long, however, I've still added new content, reviews and articles for you to enjoy, no matter what birds you're seeing. Some highlights from the more than 25 new pieces on the site this month include:
- Birding Festivals in February
- Great Horned Owl Identification
- When Birds Mate
- Cleaning Winter Bird Baths
- Threats to Penguins
