Just seeing a huge flock of this week's featured bird can be enough to identify them - the snow goose is one of the most abundant waterfowl and the birds can gather in flocks of hundreds of thousands of birds. Seeing one of those huge flocks - most often in winter or during migration - is a spectacle many birders flock to themselves (okay, bad pun), adding this bird to their life list in an unforgettable way.
How many snow geese would you estimate you have seen? Share your flock numbers in the comments!
