While every birder undoubtedly has a favorite, well-thumbed field guide, technology is becoming more birder-friendly with a wide selection of birding applications, from digital field guides to identification tools, bird sound recordings and more. But what is the best way to access these types of mobile tools? From smartphones to tablet computers, there are many ways to take technology with you into the field.
I am planning a series of birding app reviews to help you choose the best options, but to be most effective, it is necessary to review apps the same way you'd plan to use them in the field. Which type of technology is your preferred choice? Vote in the poll and stay tuned for birding app reviews in the weeks to come!
