There may not have been many entries in the August contest, but the competition was tight to choose a winner from the fantastic finalists! In the end, however, with 35 percent of the vote - just a single vote over each of the other two competitors - the winner is Fotobirder with the outstanding "Face Off" photo of a red-tailed hawk being chased by an American crow. Congratulations!
This is the type of behavior most birders only dream of witnessing, much less actually getting a beautiful photo of. The markings on these birds are crisp and clear, and the birds are so close together you can clearly see the crow's agitation and the hawk's ruffled response.
