Zoo Birds Slaughtered

Follow me on:

The Tasmania Zoo was brutally vandalized recently during a break-in. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the criminals broke the locks on numerous enclosures, setting animals free, and a number of birds were killed, their heads crushed or decapitated. While most of the animals were recaptured, several are still missing, including endangered swift parrots.

Anyone with information about this hideous crime should contact the authorities immediately. Anyone who sees some of the missing birds or animals should contact the Tasmania Zoo so they can be safely collected and returned.

I’ll never understand humanity. What were these people (if you can call them that) trying to prove? Did they think it was fun? Were they protesting against zoos? Sometimes I think the wrong species are going extinct.
