The National Aviary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is sponsoring a "Best Birdhouse in the 'Burgh" contest, complete with a wide selection of exclusive prizes, including memberships and special aviary experiences. Contestants can be any age, and entries will be judged in appropriate age groups. Judging will be based on creativity, sustainability and the usefulness of the bird house to the birds of western Pennsylvania. Registration forms are due by May 21, and houses must be submitted in June (deadlines vary for contestants' age).
