National Bird-Feeding Month

February is National Bird-Feeding Month, sponsored by the National Bird-Feeding Society. The 2010 theme is "Hatching Out - An Introduction to the Wild Bird Feeding Hobby" and birders are encouraged to add a new feeder, give a feeder as a gift or otherwise share their love of feeding birds with their friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers. Put up a feeder outside a classroom or office window, offer to refill your neighbors' feeders or add one more feeder to your own backyard.

These tips can help you get started feeding wild birds or make your feeders even more attractive: With just a little effort, you can be rewarded by a beautiful backyard flock. For more information, visit the National Bird-Feeding Society or sign up for my free weekly newsletter to get regular birdfeeding tips.
